Mineral Water Regulations

The ordinance on natural mineral water, spring water and table water (mineral and table water ordinance, German: Mineral- und Tafelwasserverordnung, MTVO) from 1984 specifies which water may be called natural mineral water. Furthermore it governs the processing methods, bottling, packaging, analysis and labeling of mineral water. The currently valid edition is the amended version from the year 2000.
